classes.

PUPPY AGILITY I: (5-week course) Start date: TBA

- 5- week course for puppies ages 5 months to 1 year and older dogs
with no experience. Class content will cover response to name, solid
stays, recalls and focus work, all skills necessary for a fun working
relationship in a successful agility training program. Registration
includes your agility starter kit with everything you need for class.

PUPPY AGILITY II: (5-week course) Start date: TBA
- 5- week course for puppies ages who have completed Puppy Agility I. Class content will
continue to cover response to name, solid
stays, recalls and focus work, all skills necessary for a fun working
relationship in a successful agility training program.
INTRODUCTION TO AGILITY: (5-week course) Start
date: September 9, 2010

- 5- week introductory course for dogs and handlers, to acquaint them with the
equipment and basic handling techniques involved with the sport of agility.
You and your dog will learn how to safely navigate the equipment, good body
language and how to create a fun environment whilst learning basic skills
with the use of toys and clickers. Week five will introduce one of the
recognized A.A.C. agility games giving handlers the chance to put their newly
acquired skills to use over a small course.
Prerequisite for this level:
- Handlers must provide dogs current up-to-date list of vaccinations. Must
pass an assessment test for obedience (including sit, down, stay and come).
We highly recommend Basic Obedience, handlers will be asked to provide proof
of obedience course. Dogs will undergo a test for aggressive behavior, and
all dogs/handlers must be in good health. Any questions regarding

BEGINNER CLASS 1: (5-week course) Next Class: October, 2010
- 5-week course where
handler/dog teams continue to build on the skills learnt in the intro to
agility course. You and your dog will continue training aiming for a good
solid performance on individual pieces of equipment. Simple sequencing will
be introduced whilst continuing to improve on proper handling techniques.
Week five will introduce one of the recognized A.A.C. agility games giving
handlers the chance to put their newly acquired skills to use over a small
course.
Prerequisite for this level:
- Successful completion of Introduction to Agility course.
BEGINNER CLASS 2: (5-week course) Next Class: November,
2010
- 5-week course where handler/dog teams continue to build on the skills
learnt in the Beginner 1 course. You and your dog will continue training,
improving upon handling techniques and your dog’s obstacle performance and
jumping skills. Week five will introduce one of the recognized A.A.C.
agility
games giving handlers the chance to put their newly acquired skills to use
over a small course.
Prerequisite for this level:
- Successful completion of Beginner 1 Course
INTERMEDIATE 1 CLASS: (5-week course)
Next Class: January, 2011
- 5-week course continuing to build on the skills of good obstacle performance
and simple sequencing learnt in beginner class. Focus will start to switch
to introducing various handling moves when sequencing, and improving
handling techniques. Week five will introduce another of the recognized
A.A.C. agility games giving handlers and their dogs the chance to practice over a
small course.
Prerequisite for this course:
- Successful completion of Beginner 2 Course
INTERMEDIATE 2 CLASS: (5-week course) Next Class: February,
2011
- 5-week course continuing to build on the skills learnt in the Intermediate 1
class introducing more complex handling skills focusing more on obstacle
discrimination, and layering whilst continuing to improve on jumping
technique. Week five will introduce another of the recognized A.A.C. agility
games giving handlers and their dogs the chance to practice over a small
course.
Prerequisite for this course:
- Successful completion of Intermediate 1 Course
INTERMEDIATE 3 CLASS: (5-week course) Next Class: March,
2011
- Teams will be re-evaluated finding techniques that work best for dog and
handler with attention paid to handling techniques and problem solving. Week
five will introduce another of the recognized A.A.C. agility games giving
handlers and their dogs the chance to practice over a full course.
Prerequisite for this course:
- Successful completion of Intermediate 2 Course
INTERMEDIATE 4 CLASS: (5-week course) Next Class: April,
2011
- 5-week course continuing to build on the skills learnt in the Intermediate 3
Agility class. Teams are now going to be challenged to strategize and course
plan while working through weekly exercises and small courses. Teams will
focus on drive, performance and success in the ring and in practice. With
games, course planning and much more this intense fun higher level course
will get teams on the road to trialing!
Prerequisite for this course:
- Successful completion of Intermediate 3
ADVANCED AGILITY 1 CLASS: (5-week course)
Next Class: September 7, 2010
- This 5 week training course shifts the focus on to distance work-
incorporating different styles and skills to best suit you and your dog
encouraging speed and confidence at a distance. This course will also
incorporate games to help teams with timing and course strategies. Maximum 8
dogs per class
Prerequisite for this course:
- Successful completion of Intermediate 4
ADVANCED AGILITY 2 CLASS: (5-Week Course) Next Class: T.B.A.
- This 5 Week class picks up where Advanced 1 left off. More distance, more
speed, more proficiency on course. Crosses, lead outs, pivots and so much more.
Teams will solidify their knowledge and expertise in this advanced agility
handling course. Maximum of 8 dogs per class.
Prerequisite for this course:
- Successful completion of Advanced agility 1
HANDLING SERIES 1: (5-week course) Start date: January,
2011
- This 5-week class is taking a different twist and turn each week! With a
different theme to focus on each week - this course is like a mini-seminar
every week. Graduation will see the students join in on a fun match to
showcase what they have learned! Here is what we have planned:
1. Week one will focus on Floor Work
2. Week two will focus on Jumps
3. Week three will focus on Distance with Contacts
4. Week four will focus on Weaves
5. Week five - fun match
HANDLING SERIES 2: (5-week course) Start date: February,
2011
- This 5-week class is taking a different twist and turn each week! Picking
up where we left off in Handling Series 1, we will continue with the theme
changing each week- this course is like a mini-seminar every week. Graduation will see the students participate in a fun match to

PAY AND PLAY PRACTICE:
Spring/Summer practice will be held on Darlings Island (weather
permitting) Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 - 8:30
- This practice time is open to anyone that has successful completed
Beginner Class 2. Stations from past classes are set up for
participants to train on their own or in a PRIVATE LESSON with
an A.R.F.F. instructor.
- Private/Semi private lessons MUST be booked in advanced.
Just for interest: Recognized Agility Association of Canada (A.A.C.) Agility
games include the following: Jumpers, Snooker, Team, Gamblers & Steeplechase
